MONTREAL -- Rebecca Green of Green's Harbour, Nfld., scored a pair of first-half goals but McGill frittered away that two-goal advantage and had to settle for a 2-2 draw with Concordia in women's university soccer action at Molson Stadium, Sunday.

Trailing 2-0, Gabriela Padvaiskas put Concordia on the board in the 39th minute and then set up Alyssa Ruscio for the equalizer in the 76th minute as the visiting Stingers earned a hard-fought come-from-behind stalemate.

It was a costly loss of two points in the standings for the fourth-place Martlets, who remain precariously perched two points ahead of Concordia (2-3-3) and four points in arrears of third-place Sherbrooke (5-2-0) with five games remaining on the schedule.

"As soon as Concordia scored to make it 2-1, we lost our rhythm and began to force the play," said McGill head coach Jose Valdes. "Our midfielders couldn't make two consecutive clean passes and it seemed like we were always under pressure. Concordia gained the momentum and confidence, so they deserved the tie."

McGill 'keeper Cassandra Fafalios and Concordia's Alex Lato were each credited with three saves.

The Martlets will now turn their attention to division-leading Laval (7-1-0) who visit Molson Stadium on Oct. 3 at 6 p.m.
