MONTREAL — McGill dropped their final game of the regular season, a 2-0 loss in a meaningless matchup with the first-place UQAM Citadins, on Sunday at Stade Saputo. The game was a preview of the upcoming first round of post-season play but neither side wanted to tip their hand, espcially McGill, which rested a number of starters.

Armel Dagrou wrapped up the conference title by notching both of UQAM's goals, increasing his total to 13 on the season, five goals ahead of the next closest player.

Both goalkeepers lasted the full 90 minutes, with UQAM's Nizar Houhou stopping an impressive 14 shots to blank the Redmen. McGill keeper Thomas Daeschel, a third-year History major from Kingston, Ont., made just seven saves on nine UQAM shots.

Sophomore defender Alexis Leveille of Saint-Lambert, Que. was named McGill's player of the game, while UQAM's Mohamed Saidi was given the honour for the Citadins.

In their only other meeting this year, UQAM picked up a 2-1 over McGill win at Molson Stadium.

These two teams will tangle yet again, as they get set to face each other in this Friday's RSEQ sudden-death semifinal at Stade Saputo. Kickoff between the division-leading Citadins (9-1-2) and fourth-seeded Redmen (5-6-1) goes at 7 p.m.
