MONTREAL --
Daphnee Morency-Roussin scored what proved to be the game-winner at the 21-minute mark and
Rebecca Green added an insuurance marker in the 76th minute as visiting McGill blanked UQAM 2-0 in women's university soccer at Parc Bois-de-Boulogne in Laval, Que., Saturday.
It was the fourth straight victory for the Martlets, who had a 7-3 edge in shots on net.
"We played a very physical opponent today but were able to adjust and stuck with our game plan," said McGill head coach
Jose-Luis Valdes. "We did a very good job at setting the tempo in the first half and our substitutions at the half -- especially
Sarah Bourque and
Rebecca Green -- made it very difficult for the other team to (penetrate our zone)."

Victoria Muccilli was called upon to make three saves en route to earning the shutout. Valérie Labbé took the loss for UQAM, despite a five-save performance between the pipes.
The Martlets, who improved to 4-2 after starting the season with consecutive losses, now sit third in the eight-team RSEQ division, one point behind second-place Montreal (4-1-1) and six in arrears of division-leading Laval (6-0). McGill gets their chance to hunt down the Rouge et Or next week when they host Laval on Friday (Sept. 27, 6:30 pm) at Molson Stadium.
