LAVAL, Que. --
Mussa Katembo scored a pair of second-half goals as the UQAM Citadins blanked visiting McGill 3-0 in men's university soccer at Centre Sportif Bois de Boulogne, Sunday.
Armel Dagrou was credited with the game-winner in the 20th minute of play.
The Citadins held a 9-5 margin in shots on net. Goalkeeper
Gabard Fénelon registered five saves for the shutout, while
Max Leblond was credited with six saves in a losing cause.
UQAM, which improved to 3-1-1, moved into sole possession of second place in the RSEQ standings. The Citadins sit three points behind division-leading Montreal (4-0-1) and will will host the Carabins in a key matchup on Sept. 27.
McGill, which dropped to 1-3-1 and is tied with Sherbrooke for the fourth and final playoff berth in the seven-team RSEQ conference. The Redmen will host third-place Laval (2-1-2) on Friday (Sept. 27) at 8:30 p.m.
