Martlet Indoor Soccer vs Concordia (Away)
Lost 0-1 at Concordia
Montreal -- A goal by Emily Hubbard in the 55th minute of play held up as Concordia blanked visiting McGill 1-0, handing the Martlets their first loss in four Quebec indoor soccer league games, Sunday.
"We did not have the sharpness and the quality of our first three games," said marc Mounicot, head coach at McGill. "We had some good chances at the beginning of the game and agains when we pushed hard to get an equalizer after they scored.
"Concordia was dangerous, playing organised and confident because we changed our system and used only three defenders, which created a lot of spaces behind our defenders. Usually we do not allow teams to have so many shots on net, but the Stingers played a solid game and we could not find an answer. Most of our pass options were off target and we could not find a rhythm but Concordia."
McGill may have lost more than the game, however, as Alexandria Hoyte went down with a knee injuryin the second half. Shew will be examined by doctors early inthe week before anything is known for sure.
The Martlets are now 2-1-1, two points behind Concordia (3-1-0) and will host third-place UQTR (2-1) on Sun., Feb. 12 at 4 p.m. in the Cente Sportif Marie-Victorin.
