Martlet Indoor Soccer vs Laval (Away)
Won 1-0 vs Laval
The Martlets ended the regular season on a high note with a nice win at the new Telus soccer centre in Quebec city.
This should be enough to clinch first place but we will have to wait for the UDM- Sherbrooke game on sunday and Sherbrooke should best UDM by 5 goals to in front of us in goal difference.
There was a big crowd, around 500 people were cheering for Laval but Colvin scored early and it was a nice thing for her. A minute of silence was done to pay tribute to her aunt a new York reporter who got killed in Syria this week covering the tragic event In the middle east .
She left back to NYC right after the game for the funerals. The spirit on the team was good and all of us supported her through the last 2 days .
We had a strong beginning controlling the play and tempo and being dangerous by Colarossi, Green well supported by our midfield. Again Bourque worked with Nussbaum.
Laval reacted well after the 30 minutes mark bit our defense was solid and Muccilli made a couple of nice saves.
Finishing 1st will give us a bye week and help us to heal some small injuries like the one to Rioux who once again was very efficient in stopping their dangerous players upfront.
But the most satisfying is perhaps win a first regular season since 2006. So all players should be congratulated for their hard work and resilience.
