Martlet Soccer vs UQTR (Away)

TROIS-RIVIERES -- Annick Maltais tallied twice at the UQTR Patriotes netted three second-half goals and came away with a stunning 3-0 whitewash over the No.8-ranked McGill women's soccer team on Friday.
The Martlets, who dropped to third-place with a 4-2-1 record, have only scored nine times in the first half over their seven games to date.
"We played without passion and grit for the entire game," said Marc Mounicot. head coach of the Martlets. "The first half had some positives but we were unable to match the speed of UQTR's Maltais and (Jessica) Lavallée, during the game."
The Pats scored twice on counter-attacks in the 53 and 69 minutes of play and then just defended well the rest of the way.
Stéphanie Rousseau, the UQTR 'keeper made six saves for the victory.
"We had possession of the ball for most of the game but that means nothing if you don't put the ball of the net and we have struggled in that domain since the begining of the season," said Mounicot. "We need to win the next game against UQAM to have a chance to get backnear the top of the league."
