Martler Soccer vs UQAM (Indoor Quarter-final; Away)
Won 3-1 vs UQAM
The Martlets will play Sherbrooke next Sunday March 20 at the M. Victorin at 6 pm.
Three goals from Bourque and M. Boucher were enough to beat a strong and physical UQAM. As tow weeks ago, UQAM went ahead on a header on a corner kick. We were not sharp enough on set plaus and we will work on that aspect of the game this week.
Again, we reacted well and tie on a PK from Bourque after Bahen was fouled in the box and then Morin-boucher scored a beautifiul goal on a laser shot from 20 yards. Our second half was better in intensity and movement but the finishing was subpar. It weems that the goalie always playing well against us.
Bourque finished the scoring from the edge of the box after Wilson was able to connect with her.
UQAM finished the game with 10 players getting a red card in the last 15 and we asked the girls to move the ball and stay off the trouble.
We will need to step a notch as a team next weekend. We beat Sherbrroke in January but they are a positive streak scoring many goals and our overall play will need to be better on this semifinal game.
Kick-off will be at 6.00 pm.
