Martlet Indoor Soccer at Laval (Away)
Won 2-0 at Laval
QUEBEC CITY -- Jukia Bahen and
Hannah Kirby each scored second-half markers as visiting McGill blanked Laval 2-0 in women's indoor soccer, Sunday.
"We controled the game but not well enough in the last third but it was a good win because we were missing a few players who left early for the upcoming Study Week," said McGill head coach Marc Mounicot.
"We were not at our best but have matured over the last few months. Sometimes you will win games not being at your best and we did that today against a team which defended very low and was trying to play a counter-attack system."
The Martlets improved to 5-0-1 and can clinch first place next Friday with a win over seventh-place UQAM (1-4-1), which would be McGill's first indoor pennant since 2006. Kick-off will be at 7 pm at the Marie-Victorin soccer centre.
