Martlet Soccer vs Sherbrooke (Away)
Lost 1-2 at Sherbrooke
The Martlets lost for the second time against Sherbrooke this season by the same score 2.1 at the University of Sherbrooke. Sherbrooke sits on the second place now six points ahead of the Martlets and will probably host a semi-final game in two weeks. We needed a win today to still have a chance to finish in the top 2 but Sherbrooke took advantage of our poor defending in the first half when we had control of the game.
We start the game well and should have open the score on chances by Bourque and Bahen in the first half hour but could not convert and Sherbrooke scored a few minutes later on a beautiful freekick by Vandenbergue and a few minutes later a second goal on a long shot in the top corner by Douste-Pare.
We reacted well in the last 45 minutes and scored a nice goal by M.Boucher but it was a little too late and the Sherbrooke keeper was solid all afternoon makking a few key saves.
The team has 4 games letf and will play Laval, UQTR and Montreal the next 3 games and host the first two and we will need one win next week to make sure the make playoffs.
