Morin-Boucher nets winner as Martlets slay Sherbrooke in indoor soccer

Jan. 23, 2011 - 3:00 PM

Martlet Indoor Soccer at Sherbrooke (Away)

Won 2-0 at Sherbrooke

SHERBROOKE -- Alexanda Morin-Boucher scored the game-winner and Kelsey Wilson added an insurance marker as McGill blanked Sherbrooke 2-0 in Week 2 of the women's indoor soccer league, Sunday.

"It was a good performance, we were well organized from the start and physically intense for the entire game," said Marc Mounicot, head coach of the Martlets.  "It is not easy to win in Sherbrooke and we controlled them well and had possession most of the game. We have an unbalanced schedule and are playing more games on the road this season, We have to get use to play such games with crowd against us."

Goalkeeper Victoria Muccilli made two saves to register the shutout.

"Muccilli was very composed in nets but our backline was especially solid," said Mounicot.

McGill is 1-0-1 and will play Bishop's at the Marie Victorin indoor complex in Montreal, Jan. 30 (3.00 pm). The Gaiters are 0-2.
