SCORING HIGHLIGHTS:

QSSF SEMIFNAL

The McGill Soccer Martlet will play their second QSSF final this season defeating Sherbrooke 2.1 on goals of Laura Blanc-Lasso and Sophie Horricks. The score was 1.0 after 45 minutes and we were lucky to be in front after a poor first half, The team was flat and playing with no emotion during the first stanza. The goal came on our first quality build-up with a nice combination play between Morin-Boucher, Bendouah and Bland-Lasso. The last 45 minutes were better with a clear domination even if Sherbrooke tied the game on a set play finished by Normandin. But it was a wake-up call and we scored quickly after on a corner kick.

Sophie Horricks finished the play after a Bland-Lasso shot on net. The players will have to be stronger physically next Sunday in Three Rivers. We will have a harder game versus Montreal or Laval and we will need more energy from the entire team and show more grit and resilience. Today, Keating and Bendouah gave the team some quality coming off the bench and we will need that mentality to make our program a winning program again regarding a QSSF Provincial championship.

The final will be played at 2.00 pm on Sunday 3.00 at the UQTR 11 aside facility. McGill is 2.0 in playoffs, Sherbrooke is 1.1.
