MONTREAL – Football players Dimitrios Sinodinos of Laval, Que., and Guillaume Beland from Town of Mt. Royal, Que., are the McGill University athletes of the week for the period ending on Aug. 29, 2019.
 
Sinodinos , a 5-foot-10, 191-pound quarterback, passed for a career-high 309 yards in the season opener, a 17-11 setback at Laval. He completed 22 of 32 passing attempts but was picked off once.  He rushed twice for 10 yards, including a two-yard TD scamper. Sinodinos  found six different receivers and generated 358 yards of net offence. The 24-year-old engineering senior is working on a master’s degree after graduating last spring.

Beland. A 5-foot-9, 173-pound defensive back, led the McGill defence with eight total tackles, two knockdowns and a fumble recovery The fifth-year management student is 24-year-old senior majoring in finance.
