Marilyse Roy-Viau was appointed as a full-time associate coach of the McGill University women’s basketball team in September, 2022.
The bilingual native of Mirabel, Que., coached at her alma mater, Concordia University, last year. She graduated in 2017 with a degree in leisure science and joined the Stingers coaching staff in 2021, assisting in both, recruiting and player development at the post position.
Named athlete of the year at Dawson College, Roy-Viau went on to a stellar five-season university career as a 5-foot-10 forward and team captain of the Concordia Stingers. She earned national all-rookie status in her freshman year (2012-13) and was a five-time all-star in the RSEQ conference, meriting a berth on the first team during her junior year in 2014-15.
