Dr. Penny Baylis has been a long-serving member of the hockey team's medical staff, dating back to her days as the team therapist from 1986. A former varsity hockey player with the McGill Martlets, she earned a B.Sc. in 1990, majoring in physiotherapy, with a minor in psychology. She earned a medical degree (MBBS) in 2002 from the University of the West Indies, followed in 2006 by a degree in family medicine from Dalhousie University. Currently a director of the Edmond Ricard Sport Medicine Fellowship, she is on staff at the McGill Sports Medicine Clinic and has worked with numerous pro sports teams, including the Montreal Canadiens (NHL), Laval Rocket (AHL) and Montreal Alouettes (CFL).
