David Edmunds

Dave Edmunds was appointed the defensive backs coach for the McGill football program in February 2014. A full-time coach, he also doubles as a recruiting coordinator.

Edmunds spent the previous two seasons as an assistant coach at the University of Montreal (2012, 2013), where he worked with the linebackers and defensive backs. In his short CIS coaching career, he has produced multiple all-conference players and the 2013 RSEQ rookie of the year.

Prior to coaching in the CIS, Edmunds spent three years in CEGEP AAA, as a DB coach coach with the Vanier Cheetahs (2011) and with the Champlain Cougars (2006 & 2007), where he was defensive coordinator.

He also has 10 years of experience as a high-school coach, six of those seasons with perennial powerhouse College Notre-Dame.

Edmunds graduated from the University of Sherbrooke in 2007 with a bachelor in physical education, followed in 2008 by a certificate in chemistry. In 2014, he graduated with a law degree from the University of Montreal.

He played CEGEP football with College Notre Dame before embarking on his CIS career with the Sherbrooke Vert & Or.
