Biography

CANADIAN NATIONAL TEAM HIGHLIGHTS:
2017: Guided the Canada-Quebec team to a silver medal at the World Francophone Games, July 21-30, at Abidjan (Ivory Coast), where she averaged 28.7 minutes, 13.7 points and 9.0 rebounds per game... Spent the summer season with the Canadian senior women’s national team for Phase 1 (May 12-22) and Phase 2 (June 19-26) of their training camp... Played for the Canadian senior team at an exhibition tournament in China (Xilinhot, Inner Mongolia; June 29 - July 8) where she averaged 16.7 minutes, 2.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game. Traveled with the Canadian development national team to the Four Nations U-24 tournament (Aug. 12-15) in Tokyo, Japan where she played 3 games and averaged 15.8 minutes per game. Also played for Canada at the FISU Summer Games (Aug. 20-29) in Taipei City, Taiwan, where Canada placed 7th; she averaged 17.3 minutes, 6.5 rebounds and 8 points per game.

2011: Member of the national development team that participated in the Pan American Games in Mexico, where she played 5 games, averaging 23.12 minutes, 5.0 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

2010: Member of the Canadian U-17 cadette women’s team and participated in the 2010 FIBA U-17 world championship in France, where she averaged 12.8 minutes, 5.4 points and 3.2 rebounds per game and top 5 on the team in scoring. During the ESTADISTICAS DEL PARTIDO Exhibition Game, she averaged 12.16 minutes, 3.7 points and 2.7 rebounds per game.

2009: Member of the Canadian U16 Cadette Women’s team and participated in the 2009 FIBA Americas U16 tournament

- a three-time Academic All-Canadian and honoree on the Principal's Student-athlete Honour Roll
- at 6-foot-4, Alex is the tallest basketball player in McGill Martlets history, matching the height of Julianne Noseworthy, who played centre from 2004 to 2007.

FIFTH YEAR (2017-18):  Team captain... Studying social work after graduating with a BA in psychology in June 2017... Named Quebec university female athlete of the year at the Fondation de l'athlète d'excellence du Québec sports gala on Nov. 30, 2017... Recipient of McGill's Jean Béliveau Leadership Award (Nov. 2017)…ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AWARDS: named twice by McGill (Oct. 23, Nov. 20)...

FOURTH YEAR (2016-17):  Co-captain... Won the Gladys Bean Trophy as McGill female athlete of the year... RSEQ Defensive Player of the Year (second straight season)... RSEQ First Team All-Star (second straight year)... McGill Team MVP (second straight year)... Led McGill to both the RSEQ conference title and  their first-ever Bronze Baby national championship in 2017... named as McGill's player of the game in all three wins at Nationals and was voted U SPORTS Tournament MVP after registering three "double-doubles" in as many games... Led all RSEQ players and finished fourth in the country in blocked shots with an average of 2.2 per game... Led all RSEQ players and finished sixth in the country in defensive rebounds with an average of 6.9 per game... Led all RSEQ players in rebounds with an average of 9.1 per game... Finished second among RSEQ players in shooting percentage with 48.8... ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AWARDS: named three times by McGill (Feb. 6, Feb. 20, Mar. 13), twice by RSEQ (Feb. 6, Mar. 13) and once by U SPORTS (Mar. 13)... REGULAR SEASON STATS: Started in all 16 games and averaged 31.1 minutes, 14.1 points, and 9.1 rebounds per game; shot 48.8 per cent from the field (98/201) and 67.4 from the free-throw line (29/43); and was credited with 34 assists, 13 steals, and 35 blocks.

THIRD YEAR (2015-16): Named CIS second-team All-Canadian... RSEQ first team all-star... RSEQ defensive player of the year... McGill Team MVP... Finished fourth in the CIS in blocks with 33 and seventh in field goal percentage with 53.3... Achieved a career-high 31 points and eight blocks in the RSEQ semifinal against the Concordia Stingers, March 10, 2015... ATHLETE OF THE WEEK AWARDS: named twice by RSEQ (March 15, Jan. 27, 2016)... Named four times by McGill (March 21, March 14, Jan. 25, and Jan. 18)...  REGULAR SEASON STATS: In 16 GP, including 15 starts, averaged 25.7 minutes, 13.6 points, and 7.8 rebounds per game; shot 53.3 per cent from the field (96/180) and 58.1 from the free-throw line (25/43); and was credited with 15 assists and 14 steals.

SECOND YEAR (2014-15): Finished seventh in the CIS in blocks with 34... Named McGill Athlete of the Week Feb. 9, 2015 and Feb. 2, 2015... REGULAR SEASON STATS: In 16 GP, including 14 starts, averaged 23.5 minutes, 10.5 points, and 7.8 rebounds per game; shot 46.7 per cent from the field (71/152) and 72.2 from the free-throw line (26/36); and was credited with 20 assists and 15 steals.

FIRST YEAR (2013-14): Red-shirted season, practiced with McGill but did not play after transferring back to Canada from Virginia Tech.

PRIOR TO McGILL: Played one season in the NCAA with Virginia Tech... Youngest member of Team Canada at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico... Represented Canada at the inaugural FIBA U17 Women's World Championship in 2010 in France.

PERSONAL: Enjoys photography and music... Daughter of former McGill basketball all-star players Annette Kiss and Richard Rusk.

PROFILE FROM VIRGINIA TECH (NCAA DIV. I):
As a freshman (2012-13): Appeared in 23 games with five starts… scored first collegiate points with eight against Wisconsin, also grabbed four rebounds and had two blocks against the Badgers in the ACC Big Ten Challenge… had a season-best five rebounds at Richmond… tallied eight points, three rebounds and a season-high three blocks versus No. 11 Penn State… had six points, three rebounds, a block and a steal at Miami.

QUEBEC PROVINCIAL TEAM HIGHLIGHTS:
2010: Member of the Quebec U17 provincial team and participated in the U17 National Championships winning a bronze medal.
2009: Member of the Quebec U17 provincial team participating in the Canada Games.
2008: Member of the Quebec U15 provincial team....named 2nd
team all-star at the National Championships.

HIGH SCHOOL HIGHLIGHTS:
