Biography
PRIOR TO McGILL: Aleks Mitrovic, who completed his undergraduate degree at Mount Olive College in only three years, graduating in May, 2011. He was named to the 2010-11 NABC Men's Basketball Honors Court, administered by the National Association of Basketball Coaches, which recognizes academic excellence.
Mitrovic compiled a 3.817 cumulative grade point average majoring in mathematics with a minor in psychology. He earned 2010-11 Conference Carolinas All-Academic honors and was also named to the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll. He was the MOC Male Scholar Athlete of the Month for the Month of January.
On the court, the 6-7 forward from Montreal, Que., led the Trojans in field goal percentage in 2010-11 with a 59.6 percent shooting percentage. He scored 11 points against Belmont Abbey and tallied 10 points in the Trojans' win over nationally ranked Virginia Union. Mitrovic played in all 27 games in 2010-11, starting in eight. He started in 21 games in 2009-10.
