MONTREAL — Brandon Frattaroli, a former all-star forward with the McGill University men's hockey team, has signed with the Nottingham Panthers of the Elite Ice Hockey League, the top professional division in the UK.
 
The 26-year-old native of Pierrefonds, Que., played last season with Frederikshavn in Denmark's Superisligaen and IF Troja-Ljungby in Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan. Between the two clubs, he scored a combined 31 points, including 11 goals, in 49 games.
 
In Nottingham, he will be reunited with former McGill teammate Patrick Larkin, who signed with the Panthers last May. One of more than 108 McGill hockey alumni to play professionally around the world, Frattaroli becomes the 18th McGill player to skate in the UK and the sixth to suit up for Nottingham.
 
"Brandon has some real upside to him," said Panthers head coach Danny Stewart on the Nottingham website. "A total of 21 goals in 28 games his final year at McGill shows his ability to score. He plays with an edge and work rate that allows him to be effective up and down the ice. Last year he got a taste of pro hockey and performed well in a tough situation. He will add some scoring punch and grit to our line-up."
 
Frattaroli, who graduated with an Arts degree, majoring in industrial relations, served as an alternate captain in his senior year at McGill. A six-foot, 199-pound forward, he concluded a distinguished four-year stint with the Redbirds with 142 points, including 62 goals, and 97 penalty minutes in 137 career games overall. In 92 regular-season contests, he posted a 48-59-107 record with 81 penalty minutes.
 
Frattaroli capped his productive collegiate career by earning OUA East first-team all-star honours after leading the league in goals and tying for the national lead in that department. He also won the Bobby Bell Trophy as the team's most valuable player to conclude a brilliant 2024-25 season.
 
Frattaroli was recruited to McGill in 2021 after playing junior hockey in the QMJHL, where he skated for Baie-Comeau, Gatineau and the Quebec Remparts. Prior to that, he played with the Lac St-Louis Lions of the Quebec Midget AAA Hockey League.

Le diplômé de McGill Brandon Frattaroli signe un contrat professionnel avec Nottingham au Royaume-Uni
 
MONTRÉAL — Brandon Frattaroli, un ancien attaquant étoile de l'équipe masculine de hockey de l'Université McGill, a signé un contrat avec les Panthers de Nottingham, de l'Elite Ice Hockey League, le plus haut niveau de hockey professionnel au Royaume-Uni.
 
L'athlète de 26 ans, originaire de Pierrefonds, au Québec, a évolué la saison dernière avec Frederikshavn, dans la Superisligaen du Danemark, ainsi qu'avec l'IF Troja-Ljungby, dans la HockeyAllsvenskan de Suède. Il a récolté un total de 31 points, dont 11 buts, en 49 matchs avec les deux formations.
À Nottingham, il retrouvera son ancien coéquipier à McGill Patrick Larkin, qui s'est joint aux Panthers en mai dernier.
 
Frattaroli est l'un des quelque 108 anciens joueurs de hockey de McGill à avoir évolué chez les professionnels à travers le monde. Il devient le 18e joueur de McGill à jouer au Royaume-Uni et le sixième à porter les couleurs de Nottingham.

L'attaquant de six pieds et 199 livres a conclu un remarquable séjour de quatre saisons avec les Redbirds, totalisant 142 points, dont 62 buts, ainsi que 97 minutes de punition en 137 matchs toutes compétitions confondues. En 92 matchs de saison régulière, il a inscrit 48 buts et 59 passes pour 107 points, en plus d'écoper de 81 minutes de punition.
 
Frattaroli a couronné sa fructueuse carrière universitaire en étant nommé au sein de la première équipe d'étoiles de la section Est des Sports universitaires de l'Ontario (SUO), après avoir mené le circuit au chapitre des buts et terminé à égalité au premier rang au pays dans cette catégorie. Il a également remporté le trophée Bobby-Bell, remis au joueur le plus utile de son équipe, au terme d'une brillante saison 2024-2025.
 
Frattaroli a été recruté par McGill en 2021 après avoir évolué dans la Ligue de hockey junior Maritimes Québec (LHJMQ), où il a porté les couleurs de Baie-Comeau, de Gatineau et des Remparts de Québec. Auparavant, il avait joué avec les Lions du Lac-Saint-Louis dans la Ligue de hockey midget AAA du Québec.
