Steeve Joseph scored 30 points and was among five players in double-digit scoring as Laval cruised to a 106-67 victory over visiting McGill in RSEQ men's basketball at the Centre PEPS, Saturday.
The result left both teams with an identical 1-2 record in the RSEQ standings.
Laval led 28-15 after the first quarter, won the second stanza 29-11 and the third 21-17. The final was a high-scoring 28-24 edge for the Rouge et Or. It was the most points allowed by the Redbirds in league play since a 111-61 loss at Bishop's on Nov. 23, 2023.

The home side had a stellar 53.2 per cent success rate in field-goals (41/77), including a red-hot 12-for-27 performance from downtown, and made 12 of 19 from the line. McGill shot 30.6 per cent from the floor (22/72), 11-for-39 from distance and 12-for-15 from the stripe.
Laval had a favourable advantage in turnovers (17-14), rebounds (43-33) and blocks (4-3), while the Redbirds had the upper-hand in steals (8-7).
McGill will play at Bishop's (2-0) on Nov. 21 in an 8 p.m. tip-off. Laval returns to the court on Nov. 23 when they travel to Montreal to play Concordia (2-1).
