COTE ST. LUC, Que -- Jonas Press continued his torrid hitting pace with a pair of hits and an RBI as McGill blanked the visiting Laurentian University Voyageurs 3-0, Saturday, to sweep a twi-night doubleheader at Gary Carter Field.

McGill, which won the twin-bill opener 16-3, has now won eight consecutive games and owns a 12-4 record overall.

The Redbirds scored twice in the bottom of the fourth inning and added another in the fifth.

Press, a 19-year-old left-fielder from Toronto, who produced a school record six RBIs in the first game, went 2-for-3 in the nightcap with a run scored and a sacrifice fly. Over the two games, he was 5-for-8, with seven RBIs and four runs scored. Press was the only multi-hit player in the second game.

Right-handed starter Jack Cameron, an economics freshman from Vancouver, B.C., went five innings and collected the win. He allowed four hits, struck out three and walked one. Donavan Worrall, who hails from Bahrain, and Nathaniel Factor of Delta, B.C., came on in relief with the latter recording the final three outs for the save.

Laurentian starter Liam Socransky went six innings and took the loss. He allowed three runs on six hits, struck out four and walked one.

McGill's excursion to Kingston, Ont., for a Sunday doubleheader against Queen's has been postponed due to inclement weather. The next game on tap is Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. against the Montreal Carabins at 7:30 p.m.
