MONTREAL – Senior
Audrey Trottier set the table for the No. 5 ranked McGill women's volleyball team to halt a two-game losing streak with a 3-0 sweep over UQTR at Love Competition Hall on Sunday.
The set scores were 25-16, 25-10 and 25-20 in a contest that took just 72 minutes to play.
"It was a good game for us in terms of momentum and flow. We passed really well and hit outstanding," said
Rachele Beliveau, a former setter for the Canadian Olympian team who is now in her 32nd year and 31st season as head coach at McGill. "We had over 50 per cent efficiency hitting today as a team and I've never seen that. A large part of that can be credited to Trottier, who was like a quarterback. She was able to deliver the ball in a way that made everyone look very good offensively. In terms of running the offence the way I would like to see it operate, this was our best performance this season."
Trottier, a 5-foot-9 setter from Longueuil, Que., racked up 31 assists to go along with three digs on defence – paving the road for the Martlets to register a dominating 42-26 margin in kills. The 23-year-old master's student in physical therapy now ranks second in the conference and third in the nation with an average of 10.22 assists per set.

Iannotti had a game-high dozen kills, one ace and an assisted block. She added three digs and an assist.
Other leading scorers for McGill were
Brook Brown of Clearwater, Fla., and Montrealer
Rachel Leduc, with eight points apiece.
Laurence Flamand led the Patriotes with nine points, on the strength of eight kills and an ace.
McGill had the upper-hand in most of the statistical categories, including aces (5-3), blocks (7-1), digs (23-20) and assists (36-25). The team had a 55 per cent kill percentage and a 50.7 per cent efficiency, to go along with a 1.93 success ratio out of 3 in serve receive.
