Sophie Guilmette posted a four-save shutout as visiting McGill blanked eighth-place Sherbrooke 2-0, Sunday, to clinch third place in the final RSEQ women's soccer game of the regular season.
The result was McGill's 10th consecutive victory over Sherbrooke since a 1-0 setback on Oct. 16, 2016.
It marked the fifth clean sheet in 13 contests for Guilmette, a 5-foot-6 transfer from Vanderbilt University, who improved her record in a McGill uniform to 5-5-3 with a 1.08 goals-against average.

Chloe Renaud and
Elisabeth Pronovost.
The game featured five yellow cards, including three to Sherbrooke and one to McGill bench boss
Jose-Luis Valdes.
The Martlets posted a 6-5-3 record to finish one point ahead of fourth-place UQAM (5-4-5). McGill advances to confront second-place Laval (10-1-3) in a sudden-death semifinal at Quebec City on Friday, Oct. 28. The other semi has UQAM confronting the division-leading Montreal Carabins (12-2-0).
