OTTAWA –
Jacob Garcia of Brampton, Ont., scored twice and assisted on four other goals as Carleton rallied to upset the McGill 8-7 in Canadian University Field Lacrosse Association action at Raven's Road Field, Sunday.
It was the third game in as many days for McGill and snapped a 16-game win streak over the Ravens, dating back to a 12-9 loss on Oct. 30, 2010. Carleton has won only seven of 31 games played between the clubs since 2003.
The game featured 11 penalties, all of them called against the Redbirds, who conceded a pair of power-play-goals.
After Carleton's
Sam Trumble opened the scoring with his first of two goals, McGill bounced back and took a 3-1 lead into the second quarter. The teams then traded two goals apiece to enter halftime with a 5-3 lead for the Ravens. However, the wheels fell off for McGill in the third quarter when Carleton outpaced the visitors 4-1. Both sides scored once in the final quarter.

Cameron York also contributed a pair for the Ravens, with single markers going to
Colin Gallagher and

Goaltender
Thomas Kiazyk registered the win for Carleton, while
Steven Pelliccione went the distance for McGill and took the loss.
Carleton, which sits fifth of seven teams in the CUFLA East Division with a 3-3 record, will host Queen's on Oct..7.
McGill tumbled to 4-2 and sits third in the CUFLA East, two points behind Bishop's (5-1) and Trent (5-1). The Redbirds have four games remaining before post-season play and will make the 560-kilometre trek to North Bay, Ont., next weekend to take on Nipissing (1-6) in a 12 noon start on Oct. 2.
