MONTREAL -- Forward 
Kellyanne Lecours of Victoriaville, Que., scored four goals as McGill University defeated Carleton 5-1 in the RSEQ women's hockey season opener, Saturday, at McConnell Arena.
 
The result marks McGill's fifth consecutive win over the Ravens, making their head-to-head record 94-4-1 overall.
 
Lecours, a 5-foot-5 education sophomore, became the first McGill player to tally four times in a game since Jan. 17, 2009, when 
Ann-Sophie Bettez tied a school record with five and 
Vanessa Davidson added four in a 10-0 whitewash over Concordia at the Ed Meagher Arena.
Lecours opened the scoring with goals at 3:33 and 6:57 of the first period. She secured the hat-trick at 18:01 in the second and buried her fourth at 12:25 in the final stretch. Linemate

Martlet junior 
Sidonie Chard, of Kingston, Ont., potted the fifth goal at 15:07 in the final stanza. .
 
Annie-Pier Tremblay, netted the only goal for the Ravens at 17:03 in the first period.
 
McGill held a 39-29 edge in shots, went 1-for-3 on the power play and killed off their only penalty.
Martlets netminder 
Tricia Deguire of Sherbrooke, Que., made 28 saves and recorded her first assist of the season for the win.
 
Katelyn Steel took the loss for Carleton, kicking aside 34 of 29 shots faced.
The Martlets (1-0) play at Ottawa (0-2) on Saturday, Oct 27 at Minto Arena at 2 pm. Carleton (0-1) hosts the Montreal Carabins (1-0) on Sunday, Oct 28.
