Dumais decidedly deadly, pots hat-trick as hockey Martlets triple Gee-Gees


OTTAWA  – Lea Dumais of Beaconsfield Que., scored her first career hat-trick as McGill rallied to defeat Ottawa 3-1 in RSEQ women's hockey at the Minto Sports Complex on Saturday.
 
The Martlets improved their record to 97-20-7 in 124 lifetime meetings with the Gee-Gees
 
Gee-Gee's forward Sara Lachance, was the only one to capitalize for her team with a goal at 19:20 of the first period.

Dumais, a 5-foot-6 forward, gave McGill a 2-1 lead with back-to-back goals at 5:26 and 5:49 of the second period. The third year management major, netted an empty net goal to secure the hat-trick at 19:41 of the final stanza.
 
Jade Downie-Landry, a junior psychology major from St. Jean sur Richelieu, Que., set up two of McGill's goals and now has 11 points, including four goals, in eight games.

Junior netminder Tricia Deguire of Sherbrooke, Que., tended the Martlets goal and saved 35 of 36 shots for the victory. Ottawa's Maude Levesque-Ryan made 27 saves on 29 shots in a losing effort.

McGill went 0-for-5 on the power-play and was perfect on all three penalty-kills.
 
The Martlets (2-0-0) play Concordia (1-1-0) on Sunday Oct, 28. at Ed Meagher Arena.Ottawa (0-3-0) plays at Carleton (0-1-0) Thursday, Nov 2.
