WATERLOO, Ont. --
Ravneet Kalkat and
Hailey Bakker each scored twice as York blanked McGill 7-0 in the opener of am OUA women's field hockey doubleheader at Alumni Field on the campus of York University, Sunday morning.
Alycia Gray earned the shutout between the pipes for York.
Kalkat, a senior from Mississauga, Ont., opened the scoring in the fourth minute and also tallied the first goal of the second half, just two minutes in. Bakker, a freshman forward from Goderich, Ont., netted her markers in the 17th and 21st minutes.
Mikhaela Slavin,
Sophie Restauro, and
Rachel Modestino were the Lions' other scorers.
Catherine Friedman, a 4-foot-11 goalkeeper from Buffalo Grove, Ill., started for the Martlets, allowing five goals.
Hannah Moore of Chelsea, Mich., played the second half, and was beaten twice.
McGill (0-8-1) takes the field again at 12:30 p.m. against Waterloo (1-5-3), also at Alumni Field, while York (6-1-2) plays Queen's (2-5-2) at 2:15 p.m.
