OTTAWA -- Spencer Bromley scored four goals and set up another while teammates Maxime Murdoch and  Augustus Bolton each added hat-tricks as the visiting McGill men's lacrosse team pounded Ottawa 15-4 Sunday.

The victory improved McGill's record to 7-0 and extended their win streak to 34 consecutive regular season games, dating back to an 11-10 loss at Bishop's on Sept. 27, 2012.

Bromley, who also scored four times in his previous outing, now has a team-leading 15 goals in seven games. The 5-foot-9, 160-pound economics junior from Surrey, B.C., is currently tied for third place among league leaders in goals.

The Redmen, who outshot Ottawa 22-15, led 2-0 after the opening quarter, 6-1 at halftime and 12-2 after three.
 
Rounding out the scoring for McGill was Rhys Burnell, Ben Wilson, Jake Gutman, Cyrus Wickersham and Drew Laird.
 
Brandon Perras connected twice for the Gee-Gees, with singles going to Sean O'Neill and Phillip McDermott.

Veteran goaltender William Waesche turned aside seven of eight shots over the first 40 minutes to collect the victory. He was replaced by freshman Conor Manahan, who made his season debut and allowed three goals on seven shots during the second stanza.

"We steadily wore down a young Ottawa team and built a comfortable halftime lead, then were able to give our freshmen some playing time," said McGill head coach Tim Murdoch. "It was a total team win and we are now looking forward to the challenge of playing a talented Bishop's team in Lennoxville on Thursday night."
 
Both teams are 8-0 and with only four games remaining before playoffs, the winner of the Oct. 1 contest will have the upper hand in the chase for the CUFLA regular season pennant. The bitter rivals are also scheduled to meet again, on Oct. 8 at Molson Stadium.

REDMEN RAP: McGill won 16 of 23 faceoffs, led by Alex Beckes, a freshman midfielder from Cincinnati, Ohio, who went an impressive 15-2.
