Box Score MONTREAL -- Sophomore power-hitter
Emilie Matte de Grasse tallied a game-high 17 points leading McGill to a 3-0 sweep over the
Université du Québec à Montréal in women's volleyball at the Centre sportif UQAM, Saturday.
It was the fifth straight victory since the start of the regular season for the Martlets who improved their impressive record to 17-2 overall.
McGill, which held a 41-29 edge in kills, a 57-41 margin in digs and a 16-9 edge in blocks, won by set scores of 25-23, 25-15 and 25-22.Matte de Grasse, a 5-foot-10 power-hitter, posted 15 kills, one ace, nine digs and a pair of assisted blocks. The physical education major from Montreal was one of four Martlets to reach double figures in scoring.
Other leading scorers were
Myriam Robitaille (13 pts),
Erika Cournoyer (12.5) and
Catherine Amyot (10).
Next weekend, McGill (5-0) will host Laval (3-3) on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 6 p.m., before hitting the road for a game at Sherbrooke (4-1) on Nov. 8.
