LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- McGill defeated the Alberta Pandas 60-55 on Sunday to go undefeated at the Frontier College Las Vegas Shootout, a women's basketball tournament featuring teams from the CIS and NAIA, at Durango high school.
It would've been the seventh straight victory for the sixth-ranked Martlets, who -- along with No.5-Regina -- swept all three tourney contests but since the CIS teams were playing NCAA rules, both head coaches agreed before the matchup that it would be classified as a scrimmage. No official stats were kept.
McGill, which owns a 10-2 record overall, returns to regular season play on Jan. 9 when they host Laval at Love Competition Hall. Tip-off is 6 p.m.
