Box Score
MONTREAL -- Gabrielle Davidson, a sophomore from Pte Claire, Que., tallied twice as the No.2-ranked McGill women's hockey team skated to an easy 5-0 victory over visiting Carleton to open their regular season at McConnell Arena, Friday.

Goaltender Andrea Weckman, a fifth-year neuroscience senior from Kitchener, Ont., needed only five saves to register the shutout as McGill dominated the shotclock 52-9.

Katia Clement-Heydra, a senior from St. Bruno de Montarville, Que., was credited with the game-winner when she connected for a power-play marker at 6:29 of the opening period.

Other McGill marksmen were scored Stefanie Pohlod and Logan Murray, both natives of Calgary.

Eri Kiribuchi registered 47 saves in a losing cause for the Ravens, who dropped to 1-2 and will play at Ottawa (1-1) on Sunday.

McGill went 2-for-9 on the power-play and snuffed out all four shorthanded situations. Clement-Heydra scored on the first Ravens penalty, a double-minor to Chloe Dion for a check to the head of McGill newcomer Olivia Sutter, a transfer from Carleton, who was helped off the ice and did not return.

McGill (1-0) will now face a stiff test as they head around Mt. Royal to take on the No.1-ranked Montreal Carabins (2-0), the defending national champions, on Sunday at 2 p.m. The game is scheduled to be streamed live at the following link:
