GUELPH, Ont. -- The Martlets, which feature eight freshmen and seven sophomores, gave up a quick goal two minutes into the game. They managed to hold Guelph off the scoresheet for the next 25 minutes before the Gryphons tallied twice to take a 3-0 lead into halftime. In the second half, Guelph took advantage of two McGill defensive letdowns and scored five goals over a 14-minute span.
Brittany Seidler scored a hat-trick for Guelph and Alison Chute added a pair. Rounding out the scorig was Jessica Donaldson, Erin Houle and Amy Wise.
For the Martlets, Madelaine Hutchings and Elizabeth Booker were the most effective players.
McGill plays York on Sunday at 12:30 p.m.
