Martlets Volleyball at Laval (Away)
Lost 0-3 at Laval (22-25, 14-25, 23-25)

QUEBEC CITY - Sophie Dallaire had seven kills, three aces and five stuff blocks as Laval swept the McGill women's volleyball team 25-22, 25-14 and 25-23 on Friday.
It was the third straight setback for the Martlets, who are now 3-4 after starting out the regular season with a promising 3-1 record at the Quebec-Atlantic interlocking tournament two weeks ago.
Freshman Ashley Norfleet, a 5-foot-11 power-hitter from Brossard, Que., paced the Martlets with eight kills and four stuff blocks.
"There were some positives despite the loss," said head coach Rachèle Béliveau. "We lost two of the sets by three points or less, so we are starting to play better as a team but we couldn't finish them off when we had the chance. Our offence isn't where it needs to be yet. We need to have two or three players getting about 10 kills per game."
Other leading McGill performances included freshman power-hitter Catherine Amyot (12 digs, four kills, one ace) of Ottawa and Geneviève Plante, a junior power-hitter from Montreal who had 15 digs, three kills, one ace, two blocks and a team-high 1.67 passing ratio.
Marie-Christine Lapointe of St. Jean sur Richelieu, Que., added 10 digs, three kills, one ace and a pair of blocks. Marcela Mansure, a fifth-year setter from Brazil, registered 19 assists and eight blocks.
The Martlets will look to even their record at 4-4 when they host third-place Sherbrooke (5-2) on Sunday (Nov.11) at Love Competition Hall in a 1 p.m. start. Revenge will be on the menu as the two teams previously met on Nov. 2 in Sherbrooke where the Vert & Or came away with a 3-0 sweep.
