Kayla Tutino

Kayla Tutino, a former professional player with Les Canadiennes de Montréal and the Boston Blades, was appointed in September, 2022, as a full-time associate coach with the McGill University women's hockey team.

A bilingual 29-year-old native of Montreal, Tutino spent the previous two seasons as head coach at Dawson College and at Collège Notre Dame, where she coached an under-18 boys team. She previously served as bench boss of Des Sources High School in Dollard des Ormeaux, Que., in addition to a two-year stint as an assistant coach with the Laval Midget AAA women's program.

A product of the Ontario Hockey Academy, Tutino merited an athletic scholarship to play for the NCAA's Boston University Terriers, where she earned Hockey East All-Academic status. She graduated in 2015 with a bachelor of science in advertising, followed by a master's degree in administrative studies (MSAS '16).

She played five seasons at BU, from 2011 to 2016, and helped lead the Terriers to four consecutive conference championships, alongside teammate Marie-Philip Poulin. Tutino was a Hockey East second-team all-star forward and served as captain in her senior year. In 164 NCAA games overall, she tallied 144 career points, including 63 goals.

In 2016, Tutino was drafted first overall by the Boston Blades of the Canadian Women's Hockey League. The following season, she was traded to Montreal, where she played the 2017-18 campaign before announcing her retirement from professional hockey.
