Amey Doyle (pronounced like Amy), a former all-star goaltender for McGill, has served as an assistant coach with the team since graduating with a physical education degree in 2002.
She has posted a stellar 22-3-1 lifetime record behind the McGill bench while filling in for head coach Peter Smith during several stints with the national team. She served as interim head coach of the Martlets in 2009-10.
The 35-year-old native of Smiths Falls, Ont., who operates her own hockey school for girls, played five years with the Martlets, four as a backup to Kim St-Pierre and stayed on as an assistant while she completed a master's degreee in sports psychology.
Also a physical education teacher at Champlain College in St. Lambert, Que., Doyle previously served as a goaltender coach with the Dawson College Blues women's team and was head coach of the Kuper Academy girls' hockey team, which dominated the Greater Montreal Athletic Association's Division 1A in its first season of existence in 2005-06.
