MONTREAL – McGill split a baseball doubleheader against the Montreal Carabins, Sunday, winning the opener 9-6 but losing the nightcap 5-2, at the Centre Claude-Robillard. The loss halted McGill's win streak at four and dropped the team's record to 12-4 overall, including a division-leading 6-3 in the four-team Quebec conference.
In the 9-6 victory, McGill had a 9-8 edge in hits and a 3-1 advantage in errors committed. Second baseman

Alastair Mitchell paced McGill with two hits apiece. Redbirds starter
Henri Boudreau collected the win, improving to 2-1 overall. He allowed four earned runs and six hits in five innings, with one strikeout, no walks and two hit batsmen.
In the 5-2 loss, McGill was limited to just five hits and committed five errors. The Carabins also had just five hits and were charged with a pair of errors.
Jonas Press, the DH, was the only member of the Redbirds with multiple hits on a pair of doubles. McGill starter
Marcus Dela Cruz took the loss, evening his record at 1-1 overall. He allowed five runs (two unearned) on three hits, with seven strikeouts, two walks and a hit batsman.
UQTR leads the league with an unblemished 7-0 record, followed by McGill (6-3), Concordia (2-6) and Montreal (1-7).
McGill will close out their regular season schedule with doubleheader against division-leading UQTR on Wednesday (Sept. 27) at Stade Quillorama in Trois-Rivieres.
