Chloe Fleurent-Gregoire of Laval, Que., posted a silver-medal finish and teammate
Emma Betty of Ottawa collected bronze as the McGill Martlets captured the Capital Cross-Country Challenge at Mooney's Bay Park, Saturday, in Ottawa.
The McGill women finished first of seven schools with 28 points, followed by Queen's (40), the Montreal Carabins (114), UQTR (115), Carleton (137), Ottawa (143) and Concordia (152).
On the men's side, McGill was second of 10 teams.
Charlotte Langley, a distance runner from Queen's, finished first on 67 runners, wiinning the six-kilometre race in 23 minutes, six seconds.
Fleurent-Gagne, a fifth-year nutritional science senior, was clocked in 23:11. Betty, a management freshman, posted her podium finish in 23:15.

Sophie Rashid-Cocker (7th, 23:30) of Toronto, senior
Maia Watson (8th, 23:37) of Victoria, B.C., and fifth-year senior
Meggie Dargis (12th, 23:51) of Trois-Rivieres, Que.
The third race of the season will be the upcoming Sherbrooke Invitational, another 6k course, on Oct. 10.
