MONTREAL -- 
Alexandra Labelle collected six points and 
Jessica Cormier had five, including a hat-trick, as the division-leading and No.5 ranked Montreal Carabins cruised to a 10-0 shutout over McGill in RSEQ women's hockey at the CEPSUM Arena, Sunday.
UdeM, which won the season-series 3-2 over McGill, handed the Martlets their most lopsided defeat in almost 19 years, dating back to an 11-0 loss at Concordia on Oct. 6, 1999.
The Martlets, who actually outshot Montreal 30-29, were handcuffed without injured goaltender 
Tricia Deguire for the second straight outing since she was shaken up during an unpenalized goalmouth collision against Concordia during a 3-1 loss on Feb. 2.
Rookie 
Amanda Hadwen made her fourth start between the pipes for McGill and took the loss as her record fell to 1-3. She saved 11 of 16 shots before being replaced after the fifth goal at 6:09 of the middle period by 
Rachelle Champion, a sophomore who was only making her second appearance of the season. Champion registered eight saves on 13 shots in 27 minutes and 50 seconds before being replaced by Hadwen, who finished the game.
Marie-Pier Chabot, a fifth-year senior from Quebec City, made 30 saves for her eighth career shutout and first of the season. Her record improved to 8-2.
The Carabins led 2-0 after the first period, 6-0 after two and added four more in the final stanza. They went 2-for-4 on the power-play and erased all three of McGill's PP opportunities.
Cormier finished with a five-point soiree and Labelle scored twice. They were joined on the scoresheet by defenceman 
Alexandra Paradis, plus forwards 
Estelle Duvin, 
Marie-Pier Dube, 
Emmanuelle Passard and 
Alexandra Boulanger.
The Carabins (13-2-4) improved their lifetime record against McGill to 21-45 in 66 confrontations overall.the will close out their regular-season schedule against
McGill, which sits fourth in the five-team Quebec league with an 8-9-2 record, are tentatively slated to meet the Carabins in the opening round of the semifinals. But before then, the Martlets will close out their regular-season schedule when last-place Carleton visits McConnell Arena on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. The Carabins (13-2-4) can clinch first place when they play at Concordia on Feb. 18. The Stingers (13-4-1) could still still finish first but would need to defeat both Montreal and Ottawa (Feb. 18).
