MONTREAL --
Sarah Power and
Quentin Basiren -- both members of the McGill University rowing team -- collected silver and bronze medals, respectively, at the Canada Summer Games at the Kenora Rowing Club in Winnipeg.
Power, an arts and science sophomore from Edmonton, posted a silver-medal finish with her Alberta teammates in the women's eight on Thursday.
Basiren, a science sophomore originally from Brockville, Ont., claimed bronze for Quebec in the men's double sculls and placed fourth in the single scull, Friday.
Also reaching the podium was the Quebec women's soccer team, guided by two members of the McGill Martlets coaching staff.
Jessica Silva served as head coach for Team Quebec, accompanied by fellow McGill Martlets assistant coach
Patrick Viollat. They posted a 1-0 overtime victory over Ontario to capture gold, Thursday.
Another McGill assistant soccer coach,
Alex Salvoni, is currently serving as bench boss of the Quebec men's team, which opens play against Yukon on Monday.
