FREDERICTON --
Emerson Dohm scored the winning run on a balk as McGill rallied for a 3-2 victory over the Holland College Hurricanes passed the lead back and forth five times on Friday at Royals Field, but in the end McGill University pulled out a 3-2 win in seven innings over Holland College.
The game featured five lead changes.
McGill University finally managed to grab the lead after a strong sixth inning. Scored
Emerson Dohm and gave McGill University the lead for good.
Samuel Vandry-Groleau boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 3-3 day at the plate to pace McGill University. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and fifth innings.
McGill University relied on
Justin Hii to eat up innings en route to the win. Hii allowed two earned runs, five hits and no walks while striking out two over seven innings of work.
Colin Arsenault was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
McGill University jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The McGill University attack began with a single from Vandry-Groleau. A stolen base then moved Vandry-Groleau from first to second.
Jamie Fuoco doubled, scoring Vandry-Groleau.
McGill University never surrendered the lead after the sixth inning. The runs piled on thanks to an error.
