MONTREAL – Basketball players Lily Rose Chatila of McGill University and Chakib Sedoud of the Laval Rouge et Or have been named as the RSEQ university athletes of the week, presented by Go Pure, for the period ending Nov. 23, 2025.
 
Chatila is a 22-year-old anatomical science and cellular biology junior from Quebec City. She scored 40 points and pulled down seven rebounds as the McGill Martlets collected victories at Concordia (69-64) and against visiting Laval (56-50) last week. The 5-foot-7 guard shot a sizzling 57.1 per cent from the floor (12/21), went 4-for-8 from three-point range and was an unblemished 7-for-7 from the free-throw line. She played an average 25.5 minutes over the two games and was also credited with four assists and one steal.
 
Sedoud, 21, is a native of Boumerdès, in Algeria. The 6-foot-10, 190-pound forward is an electrical engineering freshman. In two games last week, he scored 53 points and pulled down 17 rebounds in victories over UQAM (86-75) and McGill (69-67). He shot 70 per cent from the floor (21/30), went 6-for-12 from the arc and 5-for-5 from the line.
 
Chatila is the ninth McGill athlete to merit an RSEQ weekly award this semester. That group includes swimmers Loïc Courville-Fortin (Oct. 14) and Rebecca McGrath (Nov. 11), and soccer's Lefika Noko (Oct. 7), in addition to five football players Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald (Aug. 5), Mathis Pilon (Aug. 24), Mario Dellifraine (Sept. 7),  Jerry Momo (Sept. 21) and Philippe Bouthot (Sept. 21)

MONTRÉAL – Les basketteurs Lily Rose Chatila de l'Université McGill et Chakib Sedoud du Rouge et Or de Laval ont été nommés athlètes universitaires de la semaine du RSEQ, présentés par Go Pure, pour la période se terminant le 23 novembre 2025.

Chatila est une étudiante de 22 ans en sciences anatomiques et biologie cellulaire originaire de Québec. Elle a marqué 40 points et capté sept rebonds alors que les Martlets de McGill remportaient des victoires à Concordia (69-64) et contre Laval (56-50) la semaine dernière. La meneuse de 1,70 m a réussi 57,1 % de ses tirs (12/21), 4 sur 8 à trois points et 7 sur 7 aux lancers francs. Elle a joué en moyenne 25,5 minutes au cours des deux matchs et a également réalisé quatre passes décisives et un interception.

Sedoud, 21 ans, est originaire de Boumerdès, en Algérie. L'ailier de 2,08 m et 86 kg est un étudiant de première année en génie électrique. Lors des deux matchs de la semaine dernière, il a marqué 53 points et capté 17 rebonds lors des victoires contre l'UQAM (86-75) et McGill (69-67). Il a réussi 70 % de ses tirs (21/30), 6 sur 12 à trois points et 5 sur 5 sur la ligne.

Chatila est le neuvième athlète de McGill à remporter un prix hebdomadaire du RSEQ ce semestre. Ce groupe comprend les nageurs Loïc Courville-Fortin (14 octobre) et Rebecca McGrath (11 novembre), le footballeur Lefika Noko (7 octobre), ainsi que cinq joueurs de football américain Eloa Latendresse-Regimbald (5 août), Mathis Pilon (24 août), Mario Dellifraine (7 septembre), Jerry Momo (21 septembre) et Philippe Bouthot (21 septembre).
