A member of the volleyball Martlets, she was a five-time Academic All-Canadian, earning a place on the Dean's List and the Principal's Student-Athlete Honour Roll.

Forster played five seasons, from 1997-98 to 2001-02, starting as a middle-blocker in her freshman year before converting to setter as a sophomore after which her career blossomed. Voted a three-time all-star in the Quebec conference, she merited All-Canadian honours on two occasions and earned all-tournament honours five times. A recipient of the team's most improved player award in both of her first two years, she earned team MVP honours in each her final three seasons. In 2001-02, Forster was named player of the year in the Quebec league, resulting in an invitation to the Canadian national team selection camp in 2002.
