Shauna Denis, originally from Stittsville, Ont., was a three-time league all-star in five seasons with the hockey Martlets from 2003 to 2008. Voted Quebec conference MVP after winning the RSEQ scoring title in 2005-06, the 5-foot-6 left-winger tallied 162 points, including 68 goals, in 195 career contests overall. She captained the Martlets in each of her final two seasons, leading them to a national championship in 2008. She went on to play for the Montreal Stars in the Canadian Women's Hockey League and helped them win the Clarkson Cup national title in 2009, scoring once in the final, a 3-1 win over Minnesota. Since graduating with a commerce degree in 2007 and a grad diploma in public relations, Denis has been employed by the Montreal Canadiens, where she currently serves as a vice-president (Content Strategy and Commercial Marketing).
