Paul Brousseau was born Oct. 5, 1967 in Toronto and raised in Nepean, Ont. He graduated from McGill in 1991 with a B.Com after playing five seasons as a member of the basketball Redmen, earning OUAA East all-conference honours three times. A 6-foot-4, 220-pound power forward, he ranked second among McGill's all-time leaders in both scoring (1,866) and rebounding (1,031), with an average of 14.7 points and 8.1 rebounds in 127 games overall.
Brousseau had a career year in 1989-90, ranking second in the league scoring race and fourth in the nation with an average of 23.8 points while pulling down 12.3 rebounds per game. He received the Dr. Ross Hill Trophy as team MVP and the E.C. Lebel Trophy as OUAA East player of the year. Brousseau also merited honorable mention in the All-Canadian voting and was presented with the Forbes Trophy as McGill's male athlete of the year. In his final season, he posted single-game career-highs of 38 points and 26 rebounds. In 2013, he was among the inaugural inductees to the McGill Basketball Wall of Honour.
