David Urquhart

David Urquhart, originally from Thorold, Ont., was a three-time OUA all-star in four seasons with the hockey Redmen from 2004 to 2008 and became the team's third defenceman to merit all-Canadian honours in 2006-07. The six-foot, 195-pound rearguard scored 107 points, including 23 goals, in 147 games overall. He captained McGill to the Queen's Cup championship in 2008, their first league title since 1946. After graduating with a commerce degree in 2008, Urquhart became McGill's second blueliner to skate in the American Hockey League, playing for Hartford and Hamilton. He also had pro playing stints in the East Coast Hockey League and Italy, where he guided Ritten-Renon to a league championship in 2014. He just completed his fourth season as a full-time assistant coach with the Redmen and is currently pursuing a master's degree in sport psychology at McGill.
