OTTAWA (Sportsnet/CIS) – Canadian Interuniversity Sport and Sportsnet announced Wednesday a six-year agreement for the multiplatform rights to an all-encompassing portfolio of university sports across television, online and mobile.
 
The agreement, which begins this season and runs through the 2018-19 academic year, features expanded coverage of men's and women's CIS sport, headlined by the Vanier Cup and also including the following marquee events: Football national semifinals (Mitchell Bowl and Uteck Bowl), women's and men's hockey championships, women's and men's basketball championships, and much more.

Sportsnet's The Score will be one of the main hubs of CIS coverage, continuing its strong tradition of broadcasting university sports and amateur athletics, which began in 2002. Coverage for the 2013-14 season features 13 events, beginning with football this fall. Broadcast details will be announced in the coming weeks.

In addition to the various men's and women's events, Sportsnet becomes the exclusive home of the Vanier Cup, the historic championship football game played each season between the winners of the Uteck Bowl and the Mitchell Bowl, including the 50^th anniversary edition in 2014.
 
The 2013 Vanier Cup will take place on Saturday, Nov. 23 on the campus of Université Laval in Quebec City.
 
By the end of the six-year partnership in 2018-19, as many as 27 CIS events could air annually on Sportsnet.

Sportsnet et SIC annoncent une entente de 6 ans

OTTAWA (Sportsnet/SIC) – Sport interuniversitaire canadien et Sportsnet ont annoncé mercredi une entente multiplateforme de six ans pour les droits de diffusion du sport universitaire à la télévision, en ligne et sur les appareils sans-fil.
 
Cette entente, qui débute cette saison et se termine à la fin de l'année académique 2018-2019, inclut une couverture élargie du sport masculin et féminin de SIC, avec en tête d'affiche la Coupe Vanier ainsi que les événements de marque suivants : Demi-finales canadiennes de football (Coupe Mitchell et Coupe Uteck), championnats féminin et masculin de hockey, championnats féminin et masculin de basketball, et beaucoup plus.    
 
Nouvelle propriété de Sportsnet, The Score sera l'une des principales destinations pour la couverture des activités de SIC, poursuivant ainsi sa longue tradition de diffusion du sport universitaire et amateur, qui a débuté en 2002. La couverture pour la saison 2013-2014 inclura 13 événements, à commencer par le football cet automne. Les détails concernant ces diffusions seront dévoilés au cours des prochaines semaines.

En plus des différentes compétitions masculines et féminines, Sportsnet devient le diffuseur exclusif de la Coupe Vanier, la finale de football historique disputée à chaque saison entre les gagnants de la Coupe Uteck et de la Coupe Mitchell, incluant l'édition 50^e anniversaire en 2014.
 
La Coupe Vanier 2013 aura lieu le samedi 23 novembre sur le campus de l'Université Laval à Québec. 
 
D'ici la fin de l'entente de six ans en 2018-2019, pas moins de 27 événements de SIC pourraient être diffusés annuellement sur Sportsnet.
